Black Waka Cultural Trips & Experiences

Come to Tuhuruhi Bay, Waiheke Island and learn some of the Tikanga (sacred way) around waka and paddling technique.

Venture out in the waka and listen to some of the history and stories around our part of the Hauraki Gulf, taking time to enjoy a swim and refreshments and one of our more secluded bays.

All tours start and finish with a traditional karakia (prayer).

Where to find us

Waiheke Island is situated in the Hauraki Gulf, an easy 35 minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland or 45 minutes from Half Moon Bay.

Crossings depart hourly throughout the day.
